When considering any dating agency it is really important that you choose one with an excellent pedigree and a history of success and trust your instinct.

In the press recently there has been a lot of publicity given to dating fraud. The main points raised are:

1. Singles ads and dating website are increasingly being used by scammers.
2. A common ruse is to post a fictitious online profile with fake photos. E-Mails are then often exchanged for months to build up trust.
3. Often the scammer asks for money, usually to travel to see you or to help them through an emergency.

When questioned by Police it has been found that those people who have fallen for the scam are well-educated, hard-working, “normal” people who thought they could spot a scammer a mile away.

When choosing a successful dating agency or successful introduction agency please consider some of the following guidelines:

Always check how long the company has been established.

Check for reviews on Google. This is where unhappy clients will post their views of the company and the service they have experienced.

Ask for them to conduct a free search for you to see if they can provide you with plenty of introductions.

Ask to speak to an existing client. A referral is an excellent way to find out more about a company.

Go with your instinct, if it feels right, it usually is.
