THE HISTORY OF MATCHMAKING AND DATING

by IntrosUK on 12th August, 2010

By Joanna, Director, Introductions UK Ltd

Matchmaking has been around for hundreds of years. The history of dating is based on old-fashioned courtship and has always been a serious business.

Hundreds of years ago families would sit down at the table and discuss with family and friends who their daughters and sons should become betrothed to. They would take into consideration all family connections and how a match would impact on the family business. People often assume that pre-arranged marriages were loveless marriages, but this was not always the case. Very often the love of two people was key to the final decision. The marriage was often a joining of two families as well as two people.

As time has passed and families have become smaller and travel more extensive, it has not always been possible to find your ideal partner within your own circle of friends and family.

I have been in the matchmaking business for 20 years next year and in actual fact met my husband this way too. In 1991 when I first created the business, dating agencies were few and far between. Since then, both ladies and gents have seen the sense in joining a reputable, professional dating agency to meet like minded partners, with the ultimate goal of finding that someone special.

Just like the Matchmakers of old, my team of Professional Personal Matching Consultants will spend time getting to know you and all your preferences for a partner. During your interview we will explore your interests and hobbies, likes and dislikes. Introductions UK, are one of the largest and most successful introduction agencies in the UK and we really care about what we do. We undertake security and identification checks on all our clients so that you can be assured that everyone is who they say they are.

All of the team are caring and helpful and would welcome your call to tell you more. Please call us on 0800 0962457.
